The EuroCore training thus focuses on expertise and skill transfer to field geologists regarding spectroscopic field devices handling and large geochemical and structural dataset management following a multi-stage approach:
- At first, large geochemical and structural datasets from core samples from various ore deposit types will be acquired using several in situ spectroscopic portable devices, X-Ray scanning and drill core photographs. This acquisition step will both provide large geochemical and structural information database and help to develop the use of innovative in situ spectroscopic field devices and indirect structural characterization methods.
- Then, the database resulting from the compilation of all the data acquired during the project will be accessible online providing access to drill core characterization information worldwide. Teaching modules will be developed to provide new skills about spectroscopic field devices and data management for exploration geology purpose.
